Ms. Meghan- Founder & Lead Guide
Meghan Morrow (she/her/hers) is the founder and lead guide at Secret Forest Playschool. In 2010 when Meghan's son was born she realized there was a need for a play-based nature program in the Duluth area. As an advocate for play Meghan made it her mission to develop a program that would offer a rich, meaningful experience to children in a nurturing environment. After researching what programs in other parts of the world were doing, Meghan opened Duluth's first play-based nature program, Secret Forest Playschool in the fall of 2012. Since opening Secret Forest Meghan has been able to fully appreciate that when you provide freedom with guidance that children thrive! Meghan feels the relationships, trust, independence, confidence, empathy and advocacy that children develop in The Secret Forest will help them be prepared for their days beyond. Today Meghan's passion for preserving childhood continues to grow! Her wish is "...that the play continues well past these days.” Meghan has an AAS degree in Sign Language Interpreting and worked in the public schools for seven years prior to opening Secret Forest. She also had experience guiding canoe trips into the BWCA and working as a CNA and PCA with a variety of individuals with disabilities. Meghan is a mother of two, Sawyer and Hazel. Her husband, Cody, works as an engineer and pilot at Cirrus. |
More about Meghan:
Favorite season- fall, she loves the colors and crisp morning air Favorite color- everything teal/aqua Favorite food- probably tacos… or pizza. But if you really want the truth, sweets are really her love language. Favorite drink- water, boring right?! Best childhood memories- growing up on her hobby farm she had all kinds of adventures; riding her horse bareback through the corn fields, making a small creek under the Weeping Willow, taming the wild barn kittens, skating on her family's ice rink and hand raising an abandoned raccoon that she named Chitters. Goals- to learn more about different cultures and traditions, to keep doing things that challenge her and to remember to be present in the moment |
